Saturday 25th July 2015 Day Trip to Polmaise Reef and Masthead Island with Learners

DIVE 1:
Site: Polmaise Reef (North West Side)

Buddies: Kate Todd (Emma, Ash and Brian)
Notes:  Issues with Emma losing her fins and Ash’s weight belt and then equalising chewed through 70 bar at surface with issues.
Went with Kate for a look around.  Found beautiful coral bed in between two crests.  Funny photos eating a loaf of bread. Met a friendly Sea Snake who was interested in Kate’s fin and saw a Turtle.

DIVE 2
Site: Masthead Island
Start Time: 1100

Start Air: 60 bar    End Air: 20 bar
Buddies: Emma (Brian and Ash)
Notes: Emma struggled with equalising but eventually got down the line.  Ash had trouble equalizing and hung around at ~ 3m.

Notes: Emma had issues with her ear so Kate and I went for a look around.  Beautiful Algae Forest for as far as you could see (never seen such vast algae forest).  Found massive coral bommie and cleaning stations.  Kate woke up a Sea Snake having a little snooze curled up in a bit of coral.  Was followed by this huge Toadfish – he was very friendly and curious about us.
