I have been Scuba Diving since 2003 - my Open Water Dive Course was my 15th Birthday Present from my family.
My very first five was in Bali when I was much younger. I asked my parents what Kids Club activities we could do and they said anything at the resort. So (as mum tells the story) the next day they were shocked to find me blowing bubbles in the bottom of the pool.
I completed my PADI Open Water in Rockingham WA Australia in April 2003. In 2004 we returned to Bali and I dived the wrecks and reefs. In 2005 I completed my PADI Advanced Course on Gili Air in Indonesia staying for a few weeks diving/working at the dive shop. I started a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology at James Cook University in February 2005 where I dived with the JCU Dive Club, as a research assistant on various projects, safety diver with HUET at the Army Base, on board Kalinda over the 3 and a half years I studied.
Middle of 2008, I went on to work at Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin NT doing daily dive and feed Show.
2009 I worked for Paspaley Pearling in the remote Kimberleys FIFO.
In 2010 I moved back to Townsville and went back to study a Graduate Diploma of Education and became at Marine Studies/Science teacher.
In 2011 I moved to Gladstone to teach at Gladstone State High School. Each year we take Year 9 students to North Keppel Island Environmental Education Centre and Year 11 students to North West Island.
In 2014 I became the part time project officer at Port Curtis Harbour Watch. During my time in Gladstone I've had amazing opportunities to dive with my colleagues in the Capricorn Bunker Group.
