Zarah flew in from down south for a week of fun in North Queensland. I picked her up from the airport Sunday the 19 September 2021 and we hatched a plan for our week.
Monday 20 September we headed for breakfast and a quick trip up to Castle Hill lookout before heading to catch the ferry to Magnetic Island. We may or may not have missed the ferry by 1 min so luckily school holidays the next one wasn’t too far away. We hired a topless car and enjoyed exploring the island. We saw koalas on the Forts Walk, had fish and chips for lunch in Horseshoe Bay. Went for a swim near X Base. Great Day!

Tuesday 21 September we jumped in the car and headed north! We had a few planned stops we wanted to check out but no rush to get there. First stop Tyto Wetlands in Ingham for an explore and watch the turtles. Next we stopped at Cardwell to walk the jetty and ducked into Cardwell Spa (which unfortunately was dry). Lunch stop at Babinda Boulders with the march flies and a sneaky swim at Devils Pool. And then afternoon tea and climbed the Big Gumboot at Tully before our run into Cairns to check in at the dive shop. Then dinner at Prawn Stars!

Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 September we were on the ProDive Cairns Liveaboard Dive Trip.

Saturday 25 September we packed up and headed up the hill to Kuranda. Checked out the waterfall and train, wandered around the markets and had lunch. We then headed towards Atherton and randomly pulled into a few cool spots to check out the cool view and giant fern gully style trees. We decided to stay at Yungaburra and found the Platypus in the creek behind town and camped at Lake Tinaroo.

Sunday 26 September was our big waterfall day! We had breakfast at Lake Barrine tea house which had made Dirty Dancing vibes. Then we headed south and stopped at Malanda Falls and met up with Colleen and Austin for morning tea. Then down to Millaa Millaa Falls, Zillie Falls and Ellinjaa Falls. We enjoyed our Neutrogena ad moment! Some amazing lookouts and a very chill day. Before heading to Parronella Park to camp for the night. We enjoyed the late afternoon tour and the light show at night. Was such an epic historical place.

Monday 27 September we were up early to hit the road to get Zarah back to Townsville and on her lunch flight home. We had one little last stop for a snack and one last lookout to finish off our adventure.
